Elementary Memory Verses
Bible
Memory Verse Challenge
1st – 6th
Grades
Purpose: To help students learn and retain God’s Word.
Format: We will offer one new verse every month on a
48 month rotation. The goal is for
students to be able to learn the verses and have incentives to continue to
repeat the same ones. There is more
encouragement to learn some verses
and keep them for life as opposed to learning many verses but quickly
forgetting. Students can always pick any
from the list and start off learning those that are easiest for them. We will focus lessons on the current memory
verse but any verses can be learned and repeated at any time.
Current
incentives:
·
When a verse is learned the student receives a collector
card for that verse.
·
For every verse a student can recite correctly, they can
earn one Bible Buck every week. Leaders
will be available to listen to children recite verses before and after regular
class time.
·
Any student who can recite three verses at one time can
earn a collector case if they do not have one already.
